city x
Xiong'an, china
The City X project for Xiong'An in China, presented at the 2020 Venice Biennale, blends traditional European city design with contemporary urbanism. Using two Voronoi grids—one for natural features like parks and water bodies, and another for urban structures such as roads and buildings—we've crafted a city that feels both structured and spontaneous.
This organic, yet controlled, design creates a walkable cityscape where nature and urbanity coexist harmoniously. This dual-grid approach balances meticulous planning with a sense of urban chaos, encapsulating the future of urban architecture and design.
